[RC] re: [RC] Claustrophobic Horse - sindy mccosker - A. PerezI'd try clicker training, or a varient there-of. My filly would kick when I touched her back feet. I cured it by touching her feet with a long-handled bath brush while she ate her grain. If she picked her foot up when I tocuhed it, I'd say "AGHNT!" and pull her head up so she had to stop eating (remove reward). I'd wait a few secods and repeat. It did not take her long at all to figure out that picking up her foot meant not eating. You could do something simlar: with the trailer parked, load your horse and give her a pan of grain. When she kicks, say 'No', 'Bad' or whatever and take the grain away for 20 seconds or so (ideally you have a grooms door to reach through). If you want to try using a negative stimuli, bang the trailer near her head IMMEDIATELY each time she kicks.
