Re: [RC] Skymont ride - rides2far@xxxxxxxxSkymont ride in Altamont, TN who can describe it to me in terms of whether it would be a fitting 1st-timer ride? Perhaps the Hahira, GA ride would be better? How fast do you want to get finished? At Hahira it's a huge group starting on wide dirt roads, and it's FAST. I've done my fastest 50's there whether I meant to or not. >g< Skymont "High in the Cumberlands" is just a test of whether your *truck* can climb a mountain. The whole ride is on top with some gradual ups and downs. It's far more technical, has quite a bit of mandatory slow stuff (single track) and will feel much longer than Hahira but if I had a horse with control issues would definately be my choice. Both have great management. Love Hahira but Skymont is beautiful. I live near Skymont and will be there. Rode the trail a few weeks ago and it looked great.
