[RC] Claustrophobic Horse - sindy mccosker


Can anyone give me exercises to do with a mare that is VERY claustrophobic.

She is very worried about being in the trailer, the stall, going through gates, etc. It is manifesting it's self with her double barrel kicking and squealing while she is confined in the trailer. She is not at all worried when going down the trail, through brush, trees, single track or any other trail obstacle, but she is endangering herself when being trailered.

I think somewhere along the line there was a hole in her training. I am worried she will end up with a fractured leg or fetlock while kicking. This is a NICE mare with HUGE potential and if she ends up hurting herself it would be a tragedy.

If anyone has any ideas....PLEASE help.
