Re: [RC] hoof and leg circulation - Lynne GlazerHere's what Henry said about that image (and you can talk to Henry, he's one of the moderators at horseshoes.com:>> The picture on that site is from Dr. Strasser. It is not a picture of circulation, it is purportedly a picture of an infrared scan of the horse - which tells relative temperatures. Thus the horse's right front leg is cold from the knee down. This is the only horse this has been reported on. It's not reproducible. Maybe someone had iced that leg before the scan was taken - I dunno - but it's certainly not an effect of the shoe. I measured my own 8 horses with an infrared thermometer (the same technology) .... 2 of my 8 are shod on all 4; 2 had front shoes only; the rest were barefoot. All eight had the same temperature legs whether shod or not... except for one older horse whose front (shod) legs were significantly warmer. - Henry On Sep 6, 2004, at 11:47 AM, k s swigart wrote: Candace Kahn said: =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
