[RC] Sweepstakes- - rides2farThere are some good endurance stallions who are sweepstakes...and I have noticed quite a few of the top riders make a point of getting sweepstakes horses. I know of some who have paid the full price for late registry to make the horse sweepstakes because they planned on winning big rides and it made economic sense. My new little horse is sweepstakes...and it helped me make the decision to buy him. I've got one girl starting college and a 14 year old who'll be there in no time. She can win scholarship money through the sweepstakes program and I like that idea. I may even end up entering him in CT's someday because of it...never had any incentive to before. Being sweepstakes doesn't mean the horse was automatically bred to show. Turned out the *only* horses I found with two parents who had been successful in endurance were also sweepstakes, and the price was reasonable. (There's still 2 down there :-) Angie I decided to breed my mare.
