Re: [RC] "pound dog" mentality for horses? - Truman Prevatt
I heard a blurb on NPR during the olympics about one of the horses on
the US eventing team. He an ex race horse, worked as a pack horse and
was picked up by the rider for about a 1000 bucks out of the paper. He
turned into a world class eventer and represented his country in the
olympics.

We just won a show jumping

It was a competition between 4
riding schools. The jumps were 70 cm.
Also about a year ago some boy win a
reining competition on a very cheap gelding his father bought him,
against pedigree quarter horses costing 10 times or even more the price
of his local. The snobs were so dissapointed that their $ horses lost
from this pound horse, that the next time they did not allow for non
pedigree to enter.
On the other hand, it is so rare
that cheap horses win it from the $ horses, that it stands out, but
does not proof they are equal?
