[RC] Refuge from the storm-public lands - Mel Copeland

If anyone needs to get their horses out of FL and you don't mind roughing it, there are horse and hunt camps available for refuge on the Oconee National Forest in GA. There is an equestrian trailhead (Ocmulgee Bluff) with lots of open space (no facilities though - rivers and creeks close) south of Monticello and some hunt camps scattered through various parts of the Oconee. I don't have the Oconee district office # handy, but you can call the Chatt-Oconee office for info 770-297-3000.

I know they had some calls and were expecting some people to come to the Ocmulgee this afternoon. There is lots of space there.
