RE: [RC] [RC] netted round bales - Laurie DurginSince it is nylon orange sting in one continous piece and tied tightly around the bale inside a ring,I don't worry. You can't bite it off, it takes scissors, a very sharp knife to do it. I am more afraid of real string or the small string on square bales. Actually the biggest danger is if they get tangled in it in their legs, hence the ring. and the weight of the bale keeps it anchored under/inside the ring. When I Didn't use a hay ring , they wasted 25% of the bale. And with all the rain we get, the rain would get to the inside too quickly and start to spoil it. As it takes 8- 10 days for them to eat it.If it it going to rain constantly , then I also tie a tarp over the ring to shed most of the rain.I am real good about looking ahead and thinking of any possible hazards--I am a mom of 4 kids :p From: Ridecamp Guest <guest-owner@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: [RC] netted round bales Date: Wed, 01 Sep 2004 17:47:20 GMT _________________________________________________________________ Don?t just search.
