Re: [RC] barefoot and circulation - Chris PausExactly. My farrier only uses 3 per side and my horses keep their shoes on pretty well. He leaves out the heel nail. I've seen a horse with good feet and one with crappy feet actually get better with his expert shoeing! chris To shoe many Arabs properly, often the heel nail must be left out on "standard" shoes. I've never had a problem with shoe stability with only three nails per side, given a decent farrier and a horse with even averagely (is that a word?) decent feet.
