RE: [RC] [RC] Heirs to the Ancients - Howard Bramhall

One of the saddest situations we seem to have gotten into with this Iraq thing is we are now sending men and wimmen, in their 60's, overseas because of this war. What is happening is retirement is being denied to those eligible, especially in the Guard and Reserve, and, folks older than me are going over there and serving a year or more, when they should be retired and enjoying hanging out around the BX and PX.

There was some coverage of this on television, talking about some soldiers who had died in Iraq who were grandfathers. The phrase "old soldiers never die, they just fade away," kind of takes on a whole new meaning with this paticular war.

Here is a link to a short article about US Army training.  It appears as
if we might see the US brand again (besides on USFS horses and mules).
Also, can you believe that some of these guys are in their 50s and still
in the real military?
