Re: [RC] foal diarrhea - Bette LamoreMy vet told me just to give 60cc AM and PM of Glenoaks yogurt (it's like a liquid yogurt) until the diarrhea stopped. It has always worked like a charm. Matt said that some foals do not react well to horse probiotics. Just a suggestion--- BTW my horses LOVE the strawberry and raspberry ones but hated anything with banana in it :-)Bette Michael Rothwell wrote: Any suggestions? My new foal whose is 4 weeks old now has had diarrhea since birth He is growing and normal in every other aspect. The mare is healthy and being fed beet pulp and grass + alflafa hay. The foal had probios at birth and day 3 and 5. The mother was wormed with ivermectin within 12 hours after birthing. The foal has been hauled to the vets 3 times now and taken a couple of courses of antibiotics and something else (my mom can't remember what and the horses are with her 4 hours away from me). She is reluctant to take the foal and 1 1/2 drive again to the vet as it seems fruitless...........but concerned that he has not yet make a firm stool.......... thanks, Tara
