Re: [RC] Cellphones on trail - heidiI can't believe how many of you have coverage where you ride! I can hardly get reception at my house, and a mile out on the trail its gone. If it would do me any good I'd carry one, a wonderful safety tool for many possible reasons! Ditto. We just got coverage here at the house and along the highway (only a mile from the house) a few months ago. Used to be that we had coverage just along the highways out of the nearby town (22 miles from me) for 6 miles in two directions and for 17 miles in my direction, and then nothing for 50-100 miles over major mountain passes. We now have coverage up to the pass above me--but none off the other side. And with the exception of an occasional ridge or peak, nothing beyond the corridors along the highways. Makes the cell phone just one more impediment to fall on and get hurt by (or break) if one comes off of one's horse...
