Re: [RC] Height of horses - Rae CallawayHoo yeah - I remember when I went looking at a 15h black mare. She couldn't have been over 14.1 and had such lack of substance, she looked even smaller. They then tried to sell me the 16h mare, who I fell in love with. I came back the following weekend with my trainer and a measuring stick with a level - she was 15.2 and WP trained was suddenly found to be barely green broke, so I got to negotiate the price down quite a bit. :o) My current horse, General, is 15.1 at the withers. Unfortunately, he seems to still be growing. :o( I'm 5'9 and 14.3 - 15 is tall enough for me! I can't begin to count the number of times that riders have actually ARGUED with me, trying to tell me that my horses are taller than they really are, particularly the ones with really good substance.
