Very few riders have posted that they actually *prefer* shorter horses...most want something ME! I consider 14.1 or 14.2 to be perfect; 15 is too tall. Sorry if I'm being repetitive, but: Kahlil Khai: I always listed him as 14.2, but he was an "honest" 14.1. 18 years of competition, 11,525 miles completed, dozens of First Places and Best Conditions, Hall of Fame, the model for the "Perfect Ten." Still a fit and happy horse (although retired) at 31 years old. Sanshra (my current competition horse): 14.2 (again, if you "stretch" the stick a bit). Via Gras (my 3-year-old prospect): 14.2, and my biggest fear is that he'll grow more than an inch taller. If he grows over 15.0, I'll probably sell him. What can I say ... I like a 14.2 hand horse. -- Joe Long jlong@xxxxxxxx http://www.rnbw.com =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
