Robbie always did that ... it's something a good crew does. There's nothing wrong with it, and certainly no rule against it. Mental note: ALWAYS lie about how I feel and how horse is doing to members of competition's crew. :-) That's OK. Part of the mind game. ... I've done that a time or three. I've come into a vet check and acted really tired until a competitor ahead of me left. Hey, I've been riding along at an easy trot and seen a competitor's crew ahead, and broken into a nice canter until I got by and out of sight! It all depends on what I want them to think. My two cents on riders using GPS, or radios to talk to their crew: I think both are perfectly fine, and no AERC rule prohibits either one. A ride manager can make rules against it if they wish, but I see no good reason to do so. It should be up to the rider, IMO. -- Joe Long jlong@xxxxxxxx http://www.rnbw.com =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
