RE: [RC] [RC] Brenderup and back roads - terry banisterYup, I concur. It sounds like the other person who had purchased a "used" B had a damaged shock absorber in the tongue and didn't know it so she sold it thinking they were all like that.<html><P><IMG height=12 src="http://graphics.hotmail.com/emsmiled.gif" width=12> Happy Trails!</P> <P>Terry</P> <DIV></DIV></html> >From: Ridecamp Guest <guest-owner@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> >To: <ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> >Subject: [RC] Brenderup and back roads >Date: Tue, 24 Aug 2004 15:38:41 GMT > >Please Reply to: Dawn Simas dawnsimas67@xxxxxxxxxxxxx or ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx >========================================== > >I also use a Brenderup on dirt roads and have never had a problem. Yes, there is a shock absorber to prevent the inertia brakes from jerking the horses. And, I know what it feels like with and without it as mine was damaged when I jacknifed the little trailer too far when attempting to get turned around in a tight parking area (the shock absorber is in the tongue). It's the only repair I've ever had to do to this rig and it was preventable. But it does indeed jerk a lot without it. Nice and smooth with it, dirt road driven fast or not. I live in Auburn and have been on the worst of them, including the 7 mile drive to Red Star Ridge from Robinson Flat. One of the other advantages for the horses in a Brenderup on bumpy roads is the lack of clanging and banging of a metal rig. > >My only concern on dirt roads is the tires. My older model ('93) has little car radials. Nice ride for the horses and cheaper than trailer tires for me, but I worry about a blow out on sharp rocks. So I go slow and I have a good spare with me, but it's never happened yet. > >Dawn > > >=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- > Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net. > Information, Policy, Disclaimer: http://www.endurance.net/Ridecamp > Subscribe/Unsubscribe http://www.endurance.net/ridecamp/logon.asp > > Ride Long and Ride Safe!! > >=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- _________________________________________________________________ Don?t just search.
