Equestrians are high on the list of users that many hikers (and others)

respectfully agree; however, in most cases (in fact, nearly EVERY case)
around here in Lo Cal, the horse-related nuisance of the moment (usually
annoying to people visiting our fair hills from other far-flung regions)rarely
if ever constitutes a danger to the well-being or ife of the hiker, biker, etc.
Conversely, the only real issues most equestrias around here with soundly
trounce another user for are 1. loose dogs and 2. SPEEDING by horses on one's
mountain bike. As I was told just yesterday by a friend who casually moseys
through our park on weekends, she was stunned into near silence by the clown who
sped BETWEEN she and her riding companion! Wow. Hope the biker aws over 60
because I would HATE to think that someone like that will soon be looking after
things on a more regional scale in this great country of freedom (even to do
profoundly stupid things) whilst we are in our grand old years. YIKES!
