Re: [RC] Roundup Weed Control in the Pasture - Ed & Wendy Hauser"...Would it be OK to spot spray a cordoned off area , a weed group at at time or just wait till spring and use an herbicide while keeping everyone off it a few weeks?..." 1. Spot spraying works great, in fact if there are only weeds in 10% of an area why spray it all? 2. As with many things timing is everything. In general, spring is the best time to spray, but depending on the weed and where you are fall can be done. The person who would know what is right for your area and your weeds, is your county agricultural extension agent, or land grant university. Use them. They know what is going on and are paid by your tax dollars. 3. The withdrawal time for grazing stock depends on the exact herbicide used. Check the label, and follow its recommendations. The time on stuff I have investigated varies from a few hours to a few weeks.
