[RC] Flashers Used on BH 100 - Cindy CollinsJan and Bill asked me to share the details of the BH 100's night flashers that have been extremely popular since we started them two years ago. I will tell you that they are very labor intensive, but most riders say they are wonderful and worth our efforts. So, I decided to share with everyone. I'm going to explain this the best I can. My husband, the engineer, designed them and started their use: Buy "Super Safety Lights" model #00034 made by Bell Auto Products, DeMoine, Iowa. We ordered them through General Automotive Supply, P.O. Box 4352, Portland, OR 97208, 503-226-6811, attn: Jason Attman. They were $1.92 each including battery in quantities of 100 or more. We replace the batteries each year because my husband can't stand the thought of them not working a second year. They are attached to surveyor stakes by drilling holes and attaching with plastic screws. The stake is then hammered into the ground individually and the flasher turned on. After the ride, we pull up the stakes, unscrew each flasher from its "post" and store the flashers in individual baggies so they won't get scratched. Because they are reusable, hopefully for years, they are very cost effective. Just buy new batteries in bulk. We've left them flashing in our back yard to test their duration and they went for 3 days to 5 days. Hope this is helpful.
