[RC] Newbie alert-I need a mentor - Mel CopelandI am wanting to get my feet wet with this sport. I have 4 horses, two of them are youngsters that I would like to compete with in the future. The other two are both rideable though I only trust one of them on the trail. She is a 21 year old paso fino mare. When I first got her this past spring she was underweight. She has gained weight, but she is just at the point where she looks good. I don't want to cause her to lose what she has gained by working her to hard right now. I have included a link to a picture. Anyway, I was thinking that I could try some LD with her and gain some experience while waiting for my young guys to grow up. I have never tried this before and could really use some tips for conditioning my older gal and working with the young ones to prep them for the future. Plus, I have no clue what is in store at an actual LD event. All help is greatly appreciatedI am located in Homer Georgia. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v163/legado/horses/Lexi.jpg Regards, Mel _________________________________________________________________ Don?t just search.
