Re: [RC] Polar A1 Heart Rate Monitor - Karen SullivanCouple friends of mine got them to work by sewing a neoprene strip that held it against the horse. Works fine when the horse is standing still..some accurate and some bad readings when horse is moving. doesn't the human one go around the chest by a strap? Just make the strap longer. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Peter Harper" <peteharper1@xxxxxxxxx> To: <ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, August 12, 2004 9:50 AM Subject: [RC] Polar A1 Heart Rate Monitor I have a Polar A1 HRM that I want to use for riding. Has anyone out there modified a human transducer to work on a horse? I tried to duct tape it to the girth on the right side but it didn't work. After the ride I was able to get it to work by positioning is by hand at the bottom of chest. This will work for P&R but I'd like to have it work under saddle. After the ride she was good a sweaty, does the transducer have to be wet to make contact? I know they sell equine transducers but I don't want to part with a $100 if I don't have to. Any barnyard McGiver's out there with suggestions? Cheers, Pete and Ladyhawk in TX __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? New and Improved Yahoo!
