[RC] Bridleless riding - Ridecamp GuestPlease Reply to: Elaine Parker elainep@xxxxxxx or ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ========================================== Merryben, Thanks for directing me to the pictures of your friend riding bridleless on the Tevis. Brought back some memories. Many years ago my late husband, a student of Monte Foreman's, used to do a lot of riding in just that manner. No more than a rope around the neck. He often did reining patterns with just the rope and one of his mares did flying lead changes every two strides that way. Course, she did them with a bit too :). I've done it a little on one of the horses he trained. Rode a full course of small jumps on a young stallion of Whit's with just the rope....in a stock saddle, just for grins. Fun, but I don't think I'd have to nerve to tackle it on a ride with other hyped-up horses out there. Your friends have my respect.
