[RC] Riding sneakers - Ridecamp GuestPlease Reply to: Nicole z_arabs@xxxxxxxxx or ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ========================================== They make an "athletic" version of the Horseshoes you may want to look into. The "boot" version lasted me 3 years but I found them to be heavy and wanted a shoe I could get off and hike with. Here's a link for the Roper Athletic Horseshoes. http://www.valleyvet.com/ct_detail.html?PGGUID=30e074bb-7b6a-11d5-a192-00b0d0204ae5 I've been using the older model of the HorseShoes for probably 3 years or so. I no longer know what the exact model was, but they're moderately heavy and hot -- they seem like they're lined for winter riding. I do like them, overall, however. I can ride and run and work around the barn in them comfortably other than them being too hot during summer (but, then, given our summer temps, flip flops are the only not-too-hot shoe option). Mine are old enough that they need to be replaced, and I'm also starting to get ball-of-foot & toe pain when riding (has been extreme on the last few 50s). I don't think that's the shoes, and after reading some posts on RC a while back and doing some research I suspect I have the same condition other endurance riders have mentioned (Morton's neuroma). Anyway, I'm planning on trying the Ariat Terrains next, but they're on the "list" so hopefully soon... On another note, if anyone answers Karen's Barefoot saddle enquiry, I'd love to be cc-ed on it. Thx! ~Nicole =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
