[RC] Big Horn 100 management - Ridecamp GuestPlease Reply to: Patti Tolman Zealley Ottowy@xxxxxxx or ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ========================================== As a volunteer on the Big Horn 100, I would like to clear up a little of the confusion about the trail this year. First, yes, 10 miles of the trail was not marked. This was due to flash flooding that happened two days before the ride. My father and I were literally running for our lives on slippery sleep moutain roads in a downpour that was washing out roads every minute we stayed in the mountains. So, we hiked 2 miles in ON FOOT to place a wooden arrow on the only point in the trail where the riders could have gotten off the trail. Again our apologies for severe weather. We made it out by the skin of our teeth and by the day of the ride the roads were still not dry enough for even an ATV to travel down and finish marking the trail. As far as leaving people on the mountain, we lost valuable marking time because we thought it important to get Drin off the mountain. We only have one horse trailer that we used to carry our ATVs for marking. Trust me we asked everyone in camp if they would go up and no one would. We lost three hours of marking time going up the mountain. Thus the latter trail suffered. That should clear up a little confusion. Please if you have any comments I would love to hear them and tell you the REAL story.
