I just got the movie Hidalgo for my birthday. First time I
watched it, I laughed. I have NEVER seen so many horses so well-behaved at
the start of ANY endurance race! Even my well-mannered girl gets wild and
acts up! There were only two horses that even showed their excitement.
YEAH RIGHT!!! I also thought about sending Viggo Mortenson a
letter asking him if he was going to attend any Endurance rides in the
future after doing this movie, but I found out that since his rise to
popularity from the Lord of the Rings series, he is no longer accepting fan
mail since he can't possibly answer each letter himself. I don't know if
this is a good or bad thing yet, but it is his life. I saw he is an artist
and has done exhibits for his work. Maybe someone can ask him about it
sometime and pass his answer on to us. I don't want to take away
from Tevis talk, or turn this into talk about Frank Hopkins or the movie,
just wanted to share a laugh over Hollywood with those who know better.
