[RC] West Nile Virus - GarnerTWe have several people with WNV here in Bakersfield & one horse that I know of. I've had 8 horses vaccinated & haven't had one bad reaction yet. The horse that is ill is at my local vet's & he is really sick. He thinks he'll recover, but who knows. I asked my vet about the bad reactions & he said the same thing - no bad reactions from Fort Dodge, but some from the new vaccine that you can give yourself. In fact, one of my friends had a bad reaction with her new horse - what are you going to do though? The mortality rate is so high for horses with WNV - are you going to take a chance? My horses have all had their shots! Kathy Garner =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
