[RC] Fwd: question for mule owners - Esprech--- Begin Message ---Hi, I have recently acquired a 10 year old molly mule. Sweet dispostion but out of shape. I am hoping to have her ready to do the biltmore ride at the end of sept, slow of course. My main question is on saddle fite. I currently ride my appendix mare w/an orthoflex express lite. Placed it on the mule last night. It seems that it would fit great if it would stay in place. But as of right now she is narrow around her shoulders/withers area vs giant belly. . I can place the saddle behind the blades and be ok. Problem is when I tighten her girth her gut (she looks like she is ready to foal any moment) pushes the girth forward and therefore drags the saddle on top of her withers. I have thought of using a crupper, but am afraid that would be so tight from her enormous belly pushing on the saddle taht it would make the crupper very tight. any suggestions? Thanks Grace Sprecher
