[RC] Plastic Shoe-Equiflex FInal - Roger Rittenhouse

Thought I would post my final review opinion on the use of the
Equiflex plastic shoes on my horses.
I added a short to the point paper on my web site.

Many other riders have indicated the short coming with these shoes.
At first I thought they were just the greatest. Over time and use,
the hoof changed and I had shoe retention problems.

The ONLY good thing about them is, they are easy to install and can be
done by the amateur owner shoer.
I would have no problem shoeing my own horses with them if I had too.

Truman and others have posted many comments which I found to be
correct.
All my gang are back in steel with Luwex pads. I will try to use them
on only one horse that appears to do well and they stay on for the 5
week shoe cycle.

Since this was the third plastic shoe I have tried over the years, I
believe as many riders shoers do, to obtain proper protection of the
foot, steel is the only way to shoe.

Guess I have to buy an anvil, so I can at least fix a bent a steel
shoe and tack it back on.

and no I will NOT try barefoot.. rocks, hard roads, stone road..no way
here.
