Well, easy, you buy a Qh mare who is touted to be 13 for an extra kid horse. Then you find she is tatooed, then you out she is 18 x-race horse , trace her , find she was a broodmare with at least 5 foals , then you realise she is huffing and puffing goin up hills after 9 months, and boy is she getting fat after trying to get her bodyweight up from her rather boney condition, then her udders big ,then you laugh wehn you realise she is pregnant, then you remember the egyptian looking 3 yr old stud colt in the pasture with her and they had a pregnant saddlebred for sale, and 2 months later you have a large dun foal --ta da-arab cross from appendix lines and probable egyptian lines.(wouldn't give me sires # to register, man was not nice).
Has his mother quiet temperment, with arab curiosity, and a bit of stubborness...hmmm wonder where he got that.......

Yeah--except to get a good one, you have to first find a good riding-style
QH and a good riding-style Arab...  ;-)

Heidi  (who grew up on Half-Arabs by an Arab stallion that was the best
all-around working horse in the valley and out of good old ranch mares
that were more or less old QH style, although they weren't registered...
But "back then" such horses were the norm--in BOTH breeds!)
