I've been using my Sport Saddle for 7 years and really like it. The only time I gave my horse a sore back with it was when I got injured during the VC 100 and started riding heavy in the saddle. I use a woolback with equalizer inserts. I've heard that heavyweight riders, or people who ride heavy in the saddle will tend to give their horses sore backs with the Sport Saddle. You need to ride with your weight spread out between your stirrups and your seat because there is no tree to spread the weight across the saddle. There is a new Australian treeless saddle that is rather expensive, but has a "flex form" tree made out of a stiff foam rubber that looks very interesting.
