Re: [RC] Skito vs Equipedic & Abettas - GoToryHave to "Ditto" Karla's experience here- and have seen several horses lately who had been conditioned with the regular Skito which were coming up with white patches- NOT in the usual saddle sore areas, but rather down both sides of the back, about 2 inches from the spine... Riders changed pads- one to felt and one to a Podium with the Simpatex padding, and the white areas are going away.........heat build up?? In my own very limited experience, I've used a Supracor when they first came out and PROMISED it wouldnt slip........it did, and I sent it back. Used a Skito but felt like the heat was staying in my horse's back, so, following RideCamp recommendations, got an Equipedic at the Expo and am really happy with it! So is the mare- no flinching in the back after some long, hot rides...... Had an Abetta endurance model a few years ago and "thought" I was happy with it- but got dumped frequently til I learned the twist was too wide for me... I also found the seat really slippery! Must work for a lot of people tho- and the price and wgt are right.. nikki =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
