RE: [RC] [RC] Horse Buying/Selling - francisHmmm, I'll come to the point of looking for a second horse within the next 2 years probably, so I already thought about it a bit. For sure you can be lucky with a 1000$ horse and unlucky with 10000$ one. I hope I'll find what I'm looking for in between. I want an endurance horse that lasts 10 years or longer, so there are some facts I'll consider that hopefully lower the chances of not succeeding. Should be an arab, around 3 years old, not ridden yet. Parents, grandparents and/or other relatives should have competed successfully in endurance riding or races, means I don't want a beautiful horse that comes out of show lines for 10 generations ;-) Should be grown up outside or with paddock-access 24/7 preferrably on rocky terrain, hopefully with the right amount of food. Good, straight body. Well and some other facts like mare, preferrabely brown, ... but they are not that important. I might be lucky with a horse like that, at least I think these facts would give him/her a good start. So I think you can kinda breed for endurance, but there are prolly not enough people willing to afford it. Sorry for my poor English, it's not my native tongue. francis =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
