Maybe put some halfway around your bucket.Then have the other part sewn on some webbing strap and make a "loop" around the bucket with it?I can visualize it a,I just can't draw it!!! Try Home Depot or automotive stores.That stuff is strong if you get a good bond. Then you could tie the webbing thru the stock side or rivet it to the side or use more velcro and have it loop around the bottom of the bucket.I consider Velcro as reuseable duck tape.
