Re: [RC] easywalker shoe? - Truman PrevattThe issue with all synthetic shoes in endurance is how do they hold up? Some have had some luck with the Ground Control shoes. I've just ordered a pair of the "PolySteel" NBS shoe to play around with on one of my horses. If the shoe won't hold up for 100 miles then it not very useful for a 100 mile ride. I crewed for a friend on the OD that was using Equithotics. They were a good choice for the hard terrain there. At 70 miles we had to replace both hind shoes - all the plastic was gone. We had extra shoes all around in case they didn't hold up, there was a good farrier at the check and his horse would eat with one foot in the air - so it didn't cost us any time, but it could have been a real problem. So my first question with any of these synthetic shoes is a) will they hold up to a 100 or even more stress on a shoe a 5 day 250 mile ride. The second question is how well do the nails stay tight in the shoe. Too much flex means loose nails and thrown shoes - synthetic or steel. Truman Jon.Linderman@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx wrote:
