Here are two more interviews.

# 50, NE, Constance Walker and DML Smoke Silver "Smoke", 10 years/2850 
miles together.
#   4, W, Roy Cronnelly and Emirat, 13 years/5115 miles together.

What do these two have in common?  Nobody else has ridden their horse in 
competition.  19 of the 53 riders on the Decade Team 2003 list have in fact 
been the only riders to ride their horses for ten ride seasons or 
more.  Another 8 have 98 or 99% (usually minus 1 or 2 rides) of their 
horses miles, and 40 of the riders have 90% or more of their horses 
miles.  There are only two under 79%, which shows that this group of riders 
is among those that know the true meaning of being a "team" with their horse.

I just love the photos that Connie submitted of Smoke.  They were taken 7 
years apart in the same location, and the photos show that there is no 
mistaking Smoke's features, just look at those ears and nostrils!

Roy's horse Emirat is one of the most sure footed horses I've ever seen go 
down the endurance trail.  Roy regularly rides with his reins dropped (no 
hands).  His power steering is...well, he's sitting on it! :*)
