[RC] [RC] Warner Springs Ride - photos - Ridecamp GuestPlease Reply to: Nicole nkinsey@xxxxxxxxxxx or ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ========================================== Hi Steph, I wouldn't swear to it, but I think the photo "Off to the starting line" is me (on the chestnut, Phlyrt) and my riding buddy, Rachel (on the grey, Winter). Warner Springs was my and Phlyrt's first 50, and Rachel & Winter's second LD and first riding alone; she was lucky enough to have the Bonn-Fyre group take her under their wing. I was lucky enough to ride with Melanie for much of the ride (also on her first 50, with her gaited Morgan mare, Tess), and also rode some with John Parke, Susie (Niebergall, right?), and Dave (Braithwaite?). Everyone was simply wonderful! Susie and I trotted & cantered that last section in the dusk & dark together along with a few others (sorry! I didn't get your names!) -- what a blast to have so much horse left at the end! Terry puts on a FANTASTIC ride with loads of wonderful volunteers. The footing and weather couldn't have been better. (Although the "cool nights" comment makes me laugh, clearly Steph & John are not from So Cal -- we were FREEZING!) I finished with TONS of horse left over, and she looks like she never even went anywhere! I don't think it would have been possible to have a better first 50!
