Re: [RC] [RC] ? wet foods - heidiMy horses hardly consume any free choice salt. I supply several kinds too: loose, redmond, white brick and trace brick. They tend to eat the trace brick the most though, but it takes two horses months to finish one 4lb brick... Becky My horses likewise prefer the TM salt to the plain, so I finally quit putting out the plain. But they still don't consume very much. My 20-some-odd mares (number varies in pasture--it is 27 at the moment) go through 50 lbs every 6-8 months, and my geldings are still working on the same 50 lbs that I put in last April or May--started with 9 head, went to 8 head, and down to 7 head by September, some of which where in active training and competition, and do not get lytes. They DO dive into the grass hay at times I'd expect them to be salt-hungry.
