RE: [RC] Trailer question - Jim HollandRought-Row....Just went thru that. Busted the dang thing at OD. Fortunately, I was a little concerned, so brought along my floor jack, which saved my butt. Anyway, lubing may not help. What's in the "box" is wheel bearing grease. However, there is a nut on the bottom of the dang thing you can't get to without disassembling it. THAT'S what causes the bind. Betcha it works fine when it's not under load. Call around and find someone who will take it apart and relube it for you, unless you are really good mechanically. If you wait too long, you will bust a gear or pin, which means you will have to rebuild it. Some jacks can't be rebuilt (depending on the manufacturer) which means they will have to weld a new one on. Either way, mucho $$$$.
