[RC] Truck/trailer(What about brakes) - hrsldyloryMaybe God looks after the ignorant (me) but I used my 2000 Dakota (V6, 5spd) to tow my 74 Miley for 3 years and the Miley had NO brakes. I did rely heavily on my tranny to slow me via down-shifting but I guess I was either lucky or blessed. I then upgraded to a 78 Gore trailer WITH brakes and found that was even better. Granted both the Miley & Gore are very small trailers and I only carried one small horse but if the trailer brakes are adjusted correctly shouldn't they be able to grab enough to help stop the truck? I still tow the Gore but now I use a 2004 RAM 1500 and it pulls the Gore like a little toy. Another question: S&S makes a 10 foot gooseneck stock trailer (also very small). Is it expecting too much to ask the RAM to handle that? I do have a tow package that includes tranny cooler and this one is an automatic. Lory
