There is a quote I hear on ridecamp quite a bit
and I have to say I now completely believe in it...
"Its not what you can tow, its what you can
STOP."
So true. I had a 150 towing and now have a 350
cause my 150 did not do such a good job. Pulled it ok going up on one side of
the hill but then my trailer "pushed" my truck down the other side! Don't pay
attention to what it says it can "tow" in weight and don't listen to the dealers
unless...they are hauling horses over mountains on a regular basis. Better safe
than sorry. Don't be under-trucked. Better to have more truck than you need than
the other way around. Your babies are back there. Keep them safe.
I
am thinking of buying a 3H BP circle j that weighs 4000lbs empty. I have a
2001 ford f150 rated to pull 7700lbs, V8 5.4L engine. All loaded the trailer
would weigh around 6500lbs. Is is possible to tow with the f150 up the
hills and
down? sheila
