Re: [RC] falling safely - heidiOne Saturday a few years back the sons of the barn owner wanted to go riding with us girls. So, the gal that ran the barn loaned my her big horse and we got horses together for everybody, there were three or four guys in all. A few miles down the trail I had to get off to open a gate, I was on a 16 hh walking horse. My shirt got caught on her saddle horn and ended up being pulled over my head... Any other ride and it wouldn't be quite so memorable! LOL I was fortunate as a kid never to get hung up so badly that I got hurt, but I sacrificed all the buttons on numerous cotton shirts in just the same sort of scenario... Once I found English saddles, I swore never again to ride a saddle with a horn!
