Privets???? lethal???RE: [RC] [RC] Grapes - Laurie Durgin

Privets?? I have some wild privets in my pasture.large thick trunks, like everyother tree not fenced off they have some nibbled bark and they are lethel? I also hve some varigated ones in my front yard==I'd fenced them off ,cause the horses would nibble them or stand over them anduse them for scrtching their bellies. Deer jump in and eat them too. Never knew privets were lethal..... But hasn't killed them so far.. "Honey , you got to go cut those privets down....NOW"

The question about grapes got me curious, because my horses got into my grapevines (And I'm pretty disgusted.... they ate half of them!) The horses are all fine, though a bit ticked at me for barring their further enjoyment of the grapes *grin*

I did some digging, and found this article, which I found interesting:

Basically, grapes are fine as a treat..... the article says 1-2 pounds. And at the price of grapes here most of the year, there's not much chance of that! And apparently, grapes are toxic to dogs, but only if they eat latge quantities. Learn something new everyday!
