My vet told me that there had been some foal reactions to probiotics and 
that I should simply give the foal 60cc of GlenOaks yogurt (mine prefer 
strawberry or raspberry and hate the banana one-- it is like liquid 
yogurt) twice/day during the dam's heat--- works like a charm and much 
cheaper than probiotics and no reactions. The desitin is a good idea 
also but since I hate the smell I have been known to simply use vaseline,
