Well Barb, I totally agree with you. I find
prayer and religion to be an extremely personal thing and would find some sort
enforced prayer or invocation at a horse event both inappropriate and
offensive.
Now I know I will get flamed good for this one, but have to say
this. Becky, Erica, Dixie, please don't! Endurance rides are so
refreshing because they are about HORSES. Not politics, not religion,
not abstinence vs. protection, etc, etc, etc. Its a weekend away from
all that. I won't bother you if you want to pray at your trailer ahead
of, during or after a ride, but please don't cram it down my throat at a ride
meeting.
Thanks.

i'm catching up on ride camp, friday,
looking forward to three days off from work. just noticed the request
for a rider's prayer....too busy enjoying friday nite at this moment, but
give me a moment.....i do believe in the power of Prayer. just ask anyone
who's riden w/me. will get back w/you on this.
Maybe some clever
person should write a riders prayer for us sorry endurance folks that
could be read at the ride meetings. At RM's descression of
course.
