Re: [RC] Fwd: Soaking beat pulp question - Chris PausIt depends. Are you using beet pulp shreds or pellets? The pellets require a lot longer soaking time and therefore would have a longer time till going sour. The shreds soak up fast. I don't presoak them. I just put the amount of beet pulp and water I want my horse to have all in his feed pan and give it to him at vet checks. The beet pulp encourages him to slurp down the water to get to the good stuff. For his regular meals, I don't usually soak it longer than 10 to 15 minutes. chris Hi, First thanks to all who responded to my portable corrals question all the responses were very helpful and if I wasn't such a wimp I would try the high line but I opted for portable corrals. I feed soaked shredded beet pulp am and PM. I will soak the morning feeding the night before, our nights are cool usually in the lower 50's. I am concerned about the night feeding, can I safely soak the night feeding all day if I keep it in the shade? The temps can get into the 90's but usually lower 80's. I dont soak any grain just straight beet pulp. How long until it spoils?
