Has anyone used their endurance horses for drill team work? If so, how did it go & where did you find information (websites, books) about the subject? Some friends of mine formed a "War Horse Foundation" http://www.warhorsefoundation.com/ to provide "historical impressions" of what horses did for us humans in wars over the ages. They use their endurance horses and do periods from Middle Ages to WWII. Before I moved to Nebraska, I rode in a 4th of July parade (dressed in Revolutionary War uniforms) and then went to an historical re-enactement event with them. http://f1.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/trailpal/album?.dir=/cd5b&.src=ph They have an ongoing Drill Team, and are always recruiting. There are some non- endurance people involved, I think it gives a good impression of our "Crazy Ay-rabs". They have also been invited to participate in the Rose Parade this New Years! You might write them (contact info on their website) to see what they know about Drill Team info. The Canadian Mounted Police have a pretty cool video too. Rosalie ps When I used to work the Rose Parade (Humane Society Volunteer) I met several endurance Arabian horses in Arab Costume participating in the parade too. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
