Re: [RC] re 'making money on a ride' - heidiSeveral years ago I researched the cost of putting on a ride, and it looked like you need to have at least $2000. Several of the rides that we managed actually had budgets more in the range of $5000 to $8000. We "made money" in the sense that we were usually in the black if we didn't consider the hidden costs, such as wear and tear on vehicles, time off work, etc.--all of which ARE real costs, even though you don't have to write somebody a check for them. And Angie has a good point--if there is a disaster, the manager can end up holding the bag. Still, as long as one can do it and end up with money in your jeans (never mind that you have to replace the truck two years sooner and your paycheck was short), it is a do-able thing.
