Re: [RC] [RC] urgent question. Vets?? - Bette LamoreSounds like my gelding, Catfish -- exactly the same symptoms and after a blood panel the vet suspected cancer-- but he was over 30 years old and surgery would have been more dangerous than doing nothing. He did not seem to be in any discomfort and died in his sleep. Your horse is much younger so I would get a blood panel. At least it might give you some clues or the next way to proceed. If your horse is losing that much weight that fast, there is perhaps no time to lose and armchair guessing is only advisable when the horse's symptoms are not life threatening--- dramatic loss of weight in a short period can be.Bette Catfish Daniels wrote: Thanks Lif - Sorry 'bout that...I definitely meant psyllium, not sillenium. Didn't take temp yet. No apparent discomfort otherwise - seems to drink OK, hydration is fine, no kicking at belly, no rolling. But losing weight fast, totally out of energy, and within 24 hrs looks like hell ran over him.
