Re: [RC] Letters to the World -- showing - Chris PausLOL, how true.. and riding lessons! I use an Arab gelding for my lesson horse. He's helped countless beginners learn about horses and he's only 8! He's gentle and kind and has a special affinity for children. He gives people confidence and gently corrects them when they are wrong...and nearly every one who has started on him came to me with the preconceived notion of "crazy Ay-Rabs"... He's a great ambassador. chris --- heidi@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx wrote: New folks aren't going to be attracted to thebreed by endurance---Huh??? A great many folks who never DREAMED ofowning one of those"crazy A-rabs" now own and ride them BECAUSE ofCTR. Oops, meant to say because of ENDURANCE and CTR... Too many interruptions of sleep checking foaling mares, obviously.... Taking the clock out of the equation makes it another sport altogether. The challenge is how to keep the sport what it is while honing our skills (both as riders and as those in control roles) in detecting where "the edge" is for each horse so that we don't cross it. ~ Heidi Smith ridecamp.net information: http://www.endurance.net/ridecamp/ ============================================================ ===== "A good horse makes short miles," George Eliot Chris and Star BayRab Acres http://pages.prodigy.net/paus ============================================================ Just because someone tells you that your horse isn't "fit" for endurance...doesn't mean it isn't, it just means your horse isn't fit to be "their" endurance horse!
