Re: [RC] Tripping - rides2farThis is a fabulous horse that jumps, and has great P&Rs on long rides. It's just that on a 10 mile ride he will trip or stumble about 7 times. Check your saddle fit. Are you a big guy...could it be digging into his shoulders so that he's changing his stride? My horse and I have taken three summersault type tumbles. In his case it was pointed out to me that his rear end may be a little faster than his front. >g< At his big trot, rather than hit the ground at the sametime the front diagonal foot hits first. He trots long and low with minimal knee action and lots of impulsion from the rear. So may be more prone to stubbing his toe. I've seen him running in the field and wipe out too (comforting let me tell ya). If it makes you feel any better, he's only fallen once per thousand miles of competition, and I considered it worth it. I always said he had "great recoveries" because he's usually caught himself before he hit. :-) Angie (scheduling surgery to get the 2nd plate removed from my collarbone) ________________________________________________________________ The best thing to hit the Internet in years - Juno SpeedBand!
